Day 1: Arrival in Muscat
Your journey begins with your individual arrival at Muscat International Airport. After passing through passport control and collecting your luggage, you will be met by a local representative in the arrival hall. They will arrange your transfer to the hotel. Standard check-in is available starting from 2:00 PM.
Accommodation: Royal Tulip Hotel Muscat (or similar).
Day 2: Muscat City Exploration
At 9:00 AM, your tour guide will meet you in the hotel lobby to start the city exploration. The first stop is the magnificent Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, opened in 2001, which stands as one of the largest mosques in the world. Please note that appropriate dress covering arms and legs is required, and women must cover their heads with a scarf.
Next, you will travel to Qurm to see the Royal Opera House Muscat. This is followed by a visit to the historic Muttrah Fort and the nearby Muttrah Souk, a traditional market filled with local goods, spices, and fragrances.
On the way to Old Muscat, you will stop for photos at the Al Alam Palace, the official ceremonial residence of His Majesty Sultan Haitham ibn Tariq, flanked by the 16th-century Portuguese forts of Jalali and Mirani. Afterward, you will visit the National Museum of Oman. The day concludes with an evening panoramic drive showcasing the fishing village of Sidad, Marina Bandar Al Rowdha, the Majlis Muscat parliament building, and the Al Bustan Palace Hotel.

Day 3: Muscat – Sur – Wahiba Sands
Heading south, the route passes the small coastal town of Quriyat, the unique Bimah Sinkhole, Fins Beach, and the scenic valley of Wadi Shab (or alternatively Wadi Tiwi). You will reach the historic maritime city of Sur, where you will visit a traditional dhow shipyard. Here, wooden cargo vessels are still constructed entirely by hand using centuries-old methods.
From Sur, the journey continues to the edge of the Wahiba Sands desert. Here, you will transfer into a four-wheel-drive vehicle to traverse the dunes. You will reach the desert camp just before sunset, allowing time to enjoy the evening under the open desert sky

Days 4 to 6: Historic Forts, Wadis, and Mountain Ranges

You will travel into the Ad-Dakhiliyya region to explore Nizwa, the historic former capital famous for its traditional souk and its massive circular fortification tower. The tour moves deep into the Hajar Mountains to witness the dramatic views of Jebel Shams, the highest peak in Oman, which is famously known as the country’s “Grand Canyon”. You will also discover remote mountain villages, historic fortresses, and lush, green oases nestled inside deep river canyons like Wadi Bani Khalid.
Accommodation: Hotel Al Diyar in Nizwa (or similar) for two nights.

Day 7: Return to Muscat & Departure
The final day wraps up the small-group experience. A scheduled transfer will pick you up from your local restaurant or designated location to bring you directly back to Muscat International Airport for your return home or onward flight.
