In 2024, the 100th anniversary of Giacomo Puccini’s death will be commemorated. To mark this occasion, numerous initiatives and celebrations honoring the life and career of one of Italy’s greatest composers will take place in Tuscany, Puccini’s homeland, as well as throughout Italy. The annual Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago, near Lucca, held each summer, will present a special edition. Additionally, the Teatro alla Scala will feature new productions of “La rondine” and “Turandot,” along with a concert evening commemorating the anniversary of Puccini’s death on November 29th. Furthermore, Puccini’s “Turandot” will open the 101st season of the Arena Opera Festival in Verona on June 8th and the Macerata Opera Festival in the Marche region on July 19th.
