Individual Round Trip Sri Lanka

The individual tour of Sri Lanka is conducted in a car with a driver or in a comfortable minibus with a driver for more than 4 participants. The driver accompanies you from arrival at Colombo Airport until departure. All hotels are 4 or 5 stars, some with all-inclusive meals, but also 4 nights with breakfast only (e.g., at the Lighthouse Hotel, where dinner is highly recommended). Please include this in your on-site travel budget, as well as the entrance fees of approximately €200 per person for various attractions. Prices for these may change unexpectedly, so they are not included in the travel costs. If you have traveling parents, friends, or children, please inquire. We will work out an individual current offer. If a hotel listed here is not available, we will offer the best possible alternative.

The round trip, covering approximately 1100 kilometers for 2 people with double room accommodations, offers a high standard and includes 14 overnight stays over 15 days.

DAY 1 and 2: Arrival at Kattanayake Airport in Colombo and transfer to Club Hotel Dolphin directly on the beach of the Indian Ocean, where you will have 2 nights for recovery from the flight and acclimatization with all-inclusive meals.

DAY 3: After breakfast, drive to the Elephant Orphanage, where you will get very close to the elephants. Then continue to Kandy, check-in at Hotel Madulkelle Tea and Eco Lodge, reserved with breakfast. Spend the afternoon in Kandy, where you visit the Temple of the Tooth and explore the area. Choose your favourite  restaurant for dinner (not included).

DAY 4: After breakfast, depart for Dambulla, where you will visit the UNESCO World Heritage site, the Golden Temple and its shrine of the reclining Buddha, as well as other statues and paintings. From here, you continue to another drive to Sigiriya Rock with paintings and the remains of a royal palace at the summit. In Sigiriya, you will stay at Sigiriya Village with half board.

DAY 5-8: Today, you will continue your journey to the east coast to Trincomalee. Along the way, you will stop in Anuradhapura, the ancient royal city, for a cultural sightseeing tour. You will stay here for 4 nights at Trinco Blu By Cinnamon hotel with all-inclusive meals directly on the Indian Ocean. The sea is shallower on the east coast, allowing you to enjoy your beach vacation here. Regarding cinnamon: Ceylon cinnamon is popular and known as a spice that lowers blood sugar levels. In Sri Lanka, you will mostly encounter savory dishes with fresh fish and vegetables that are sweeter than those in northern Europe.

DAY 9-10: Today, after breakfast, you embark on a long journey. It takes you along the coast, passing through Batticaloa, to Ella in the highlands, and from there, further to Nuwara Eliya. You will stay here for 2 nights at Governors Palace with all-inclusive meals. In the highlands, the weather is cooler, with temperatures sometimes only reaching 15-17 degrees Celsius. You will climb the sacred Adam’s Peak and visit a tea plantation. We recommend wearing a warm sweatshirt and hiking shoes.

DAY 11: Today, you leave the highlands and drive to Yala National Park for a mini safari. Afterward, you check in for 1 night at Doubletree Hilton on half-board basis, including dinner at the hotel.

DAY 12-14: Spend your last touring days at Lighthouse Hotel near Galle, right by the beach, offering excellent cuisine. Your booking includes breakfast. Try the hotel restaurant on the first evening and decide afterward whether you want to dine out or at the hotel (not included in the tour price).

DAY 15: Transfer to the airport on Sri Lanka’s only expressway.
