On the occasion of the founding of Rome on April 21, 753 BC, numerous celebrations will take place from April 19th to 21st under the direction of Gruppo Storico Romano. The highlights include: On Friday evening, the Holy Fire (Fuoco Sacro) will be ignited on the Field of Mars, and the blessing Benedictio Vrbi will be staged as a historical spectacle in front of the Pantheon. On Sunday, there will be a historical parade from the Circus Maximus through Piazza Venezia, along the Via dei Fori Imperiali and Via di San Gregorio, back to the Circus Maximus. At 2 p.m., the Philharmonic Orchestra of the City of Rome will perform. Gladiatorial fights, tournaments, dances, and other scenes of ancient Rome will take place at the Circus Maximus throughout all days.
