Day 1: Departure from Germany
You board your scheduled flight with Vietnam Airlines (or an equivalent partner airline) from Frankfurt hub heading directly to Hanoi.

Day 2: Arrival in Hanoi
You touch down in the capital city of Vietnam, Hanoi. Upon arrival, you meet your regional tour guide for a planned group transfer to your centrally located hotel (standard check-in is scheduled for 14:00). The remaining hours of the day are yours to relax or explore the local neighborhood independently.

Day 3: Cultural Highlights of Hanoi and Night Train to Lao Cai
Following breakfast at your hotel, you embark on an exploration of Hanoi’s cultural landscape. You visit the Museum of Ethnology, which showcases traditional structures and artifacts from Vietnam’s 54 distinct ethnic groups. In the afternoon, you tour the Imperial Citadel of Thang Long, an official UNESCO World Heritage site that served as the country’s historic political center. After an early dinner, you board the Chapa Express overnight train in a shared 2-berth compartment bound for Lao Cai. The train ride runs from approximately 22:00 until 06:00 the following morning.

The remaining 17 days of this active 21-day itinerary involve a comprehensive cross-country trek, high-altitude excursions, and an oceanfront stay. Based on the official tour description, here is what follows on the subsequent stages of your journey:
Days 4 to 6: High-Altitude Trekking in Sapa and Ma Tra
You arrive early in the morning in the northern border town of Lao Cai and transfer into the scenic mountains of Sapa. Over the next few days, you embark on your included guided trekking expeditions through the iconic terraced rice fields. You hike to the remote mountain villages of Ma Tra and Cat Cat, interacting closely with local multi-ethnic tribes to learn about their ancestral customs.
You journey back from the mountains toward the coast to board a traditional wooden junk cruise ship in Halong Bay. You spend a full day sailing past the majestic limestone karst rock formations and exploring hidden caves. A welcome drink and fresh seafood meals are served on board.
You take an inner-Asian domestic flight from Hanoi down to Hue, the old imperial capital of Central Vietnam. Your itinerary here includes a traditional dragon boat cruise down the Perfume River, visiting historic royal pagodas, and exploring the expansive walled Imperial City complex.

Days 12 to 14: Hoi An Ancient Town and Da Nang Bridges
You travel south past Da Nang, where you climb into the Marble Mountains and cross the world-famous architectural wonder, the Golden Bridge (held up by giant stone hands). You then spend your days in the UNESCO-listed ancient trading port of Hoi An, where you enjoy a bicycle tour out to the traditional farming village of Tra Que.

Days 15 to 16: Dynamic Ho Chi Minh City and Cu Chi Tunnels
A short domestic flight from Da Nang brings you to Southern Vietnam’s commercial hub, Ho Chi Minh City (formerly Saigon). You tour the historic downtown area via local cyclo rikschas, experience a classic water puppet theater show, and take an active excursion out to crawl through the historic underground military network of the Cu Chi Tunnels. You also board an island boat cruise out into the lush mangrove channels of the Mekong Delta.

Days 17 to 20: Coastal Relaxation in Phan Thiet
The active exploration portion of the trip concludes as a private transfer bus takes you to the coastal beach destination of Phan Thiet. You spend four full nights relaxing at a premium beachfront resort along the white sands of the South China Sea. Please note that regional tour guide services are not present during this independent beach extension.

Day 21: Return Flight and Arrival Home
