Day 1: Departure from Germany
- Itinerary: Your tropical journey begins with a scheduled international flight departing from Frankfurt, Germany, bound for Colombo, Sri Lanka. Standard economy services are included along with your German Rail & Fly 2nd-class train ticket for seamless domestic transit to the airport. You will spend the night on board the aircraft.
Day 2: Arrival in Colombo – Negombo
- Itinerary: Upon landing at Colombo International Airport in the morning, you will be met and greeted by your local, German-speaking tour guide. A transfer bus will take you through an idyllic tropical landscape of sweeping rice paddies and small villages to your beachfront hotel in Negombo. Check-in is available from 14:00. The rest of the day is yours to unwind from the flight. Negombo still features architecture, churches, and old fort ruins from Dutch and Portuguese colonial eras. In the evening, you can see traditional fishing catamarans returning to the beach or watch the catch being auctioned at the local harbor lagoon.

Day 3: Negombo – Sigiriya
- Itinerary: Following breakfast, you officially begin your overland tour as you drive to Sigiriya, an ancient royal city located deep in the cultural heart of Sri Lanka. Today’s highlight is the guided ascent of the monumental Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a UNESCO World Heritage site constructed by King Kassapa in the 5th century and often called the “8th Wonder of the World”. This massive 200-meter-high granite monolith rises straight out of the dense jungle. You will explore the ancient moats, sprawling water gardens, and monastic ruins, and view the iconic, vibrant frescoes of the “Cloud Maidens” painted directly onto the cliffside.

Day 4: Sigiriya – Dambulla – Matale – Kandy
- Itinerary: Leave Sigiriya and travel south to Dambulla to explore the famous Golden Rock Cave Temple complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site filled with ancient Buddhist statues and murals. Continue your drive through the central hills to Matale to tour an authentic spice garden and learn about traditional Ayurvedic herbs. By afternoon, you will reach the royal hill capital of Kandy, where you will check into your hotel and enjoy a panoramic city drive around the scenic Kandy Lake.

Day 5: Kandy Exploration
- Itinerary: Dedicate your day to discovering the spiritual highlights of Kandy. You will visit the world-famous Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic (Sri Dalada Maligawa), Sri Lanka’s most sacred Buddhist shrine, which houses a relic of the tooth of the Buddha. In the afternoon, enjoy a peaceful walk through the sprawling Peradeniya Royal Botanic Gardens, renowned for its extensive collection of orchids and giant palm avenues. The evening concludes with a traditional Sri Lankan cultural dance performance.

Day 6: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya
- Itinerary: Today the tour winds upwards into the misty mist-covered mountains of Sri Lanka’s tea country. You will pass emerald-green hills, cascading waterfalls, and local tea pluckers at work. Stop at a premier tea plantation and processing factory to see how Ceylon tea is harvested, dried, and graded, followed by a fresh tasting session. Afterward, arrive in Nuwara Eliya, nicknamed “Little England” due to its colonial-era British bungalows, rose gardens, and crisp mountain climate.

Day 7: Nuwara Eliya – Rawana Falls – Yala National Park
- Itinerary: Descend from the central highlands toward the southern plains. Along the way, you will stop to witness the impressive, multi-tiered Rawana Waterfall, which is tied to the ancient Indian Ramayana epic. Continue your drive southward into the dry zone to reach the borders of Yala National Park. In the afternoon, board an open-top 4×4 safari jeep to explore the park’s wilderness, home to wild elephants, crocodiles, sloth bears, and one of the highest densities of leopards in the world.

Day 8: Yala – Colombo Airport – Flight to the Maldives
- Itinerary: After an early breakfast, you will complete your Sri Lankan circuit and drive back north directly to Colombo International Airport. Say goodbye to your overland tour guide and board your regional flight across the Indian Ocean to Malé, the capital of the Maldives. Upon arrival at Velana International Airport, you will step aboard a high-speed speedboat transfer that whisks you across the turquoise waters directly to your luxury coral island resort in the South Malé Atoll.

Days 9 to 14: Beachfront Relaxation in the Maldives (South Malé Atoll)
- Itinerary: A full week dedicated entirely to leisure and island paradise living. Your daily schedule is unstructured, allowing you to relax at your own pace under a premium All-Inclusive catering package that covers all daily meals, snacks, and a wide selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.You can spend these 7 nights swimming in the crystal-clear lagoons, sunbathing on pristine white sand beaches, or exploring the house reef. The resort offers excellent opportunities for scuba diving, coral reef snorkeling excursions, windsurfing, or pampering spa treatments (some water sports and spa services carry a local fee). Optional overwater water bungalows are also available for an upgrade.

Day 15: Maldives – Departure to Germany
- Itinerary: Enjoy a final breakfast on the island before checking out of your room. Take the scheduled resort speedboat transfer back to Malé International Airport. Upon arrival, your tour package concludes as you board your included 2nd-class German Rail & Fly ICE train for your individual onward domestic transit home.
