Charles V

was born in Ghent on February 24, 1500. At the age of 15, Karl took over the government in the Netherlands as Duke of #Burgundy,
which at that time included what is now Belgium, Holland and northern France. Two years later, at the age of just 17, he became king
in #Spain and its American possessions, at the age of 20 he became the German king and elected emperor, at the age of 30 he was
anointed and crowned emperor in Bologna.

Charles V ruled the largest and economically and culturally richest dominion that Europe had experienced up to that point. At a time
when the continent was undergoing far-reaching upheavals by Luther and the Ottoman Empire and the first wave of globalization.
Challenges and opportunities that brought with them great uncertainty and fears among the population.

Today, the Northern European cultural area is closely linked to the Iberian Peninsula through tourism. People have come closer, but
we are also experiencing profound upheavals at the moment again insecurity and fear. So let's look at the challenges and opportunities.

I do it with my #travel portal for #Spain and #Portugal www.fuerte-ventura.de, which is still incomplete and full of errors, and therefore
still requires intensive work. However, it is important to strive for and achieve goals even in difficult times. With every new creation comes hope for improvement.

With these thoughts and suggestions we are going into a hot week together, in the north and in the south.
